How many sleeps
until the big day?

Days are for calendars. Sleeps are for people β€” especially small people who measure a wait in bedtimes. Pick a day below and watch the number fall, one good night at a time. Every counter updates live and rolls on to next year by itself.

Why count in sleeps?

Ask a child how long 59 days is and you will get a blank look. Tell them 59 sleeps and they understand instantly β€” and, better, they can watch the number shrink. Every morning the count is one smaller than the night before, which turns a long wait into a daily little victory. Grown-ups use sleeps too, usually without admitting it: nobody says β€œthree days until the wedding”, they say β€œthree more nights”.

Numerically, sleeps and days are the same count β€” the nights between tonight and the big morning equal the calendar days between today and the date. The difference is purely human, and that is the point.

Counting down to something else?

A birthday, a holiday flight, the first day of school, a wedding β€” if it has a date, it can have a sleeps countdown. Create your own countdown, then share the link so the whole family counts the same number.
